This
is the hospital grade MUMA and is 12cms wide. There is a narrower
MUMA which is suitable for children or the smaller person.
This
demonstrates the effective way of moving a patient forward so that they can
get to a position to be able to stand up.
The
MUMA being used as a useful tool to be able to assist getting
a patients legs back into bed.
The
MUMA is placed around the patient, this can be done while they
are still lying down, then the patient can be assisted to a sitting position.
The
MUMA is strapped to the end of the bed and used to assist the
patient in being able to sit themselves up by using the handles provided.
The
MUMA being used to walk a patient giving them support from
behind, this support the patients claim, makes them feel secure and very comfortable.
The
MUMA can be used to assist transferring a person from one place
to the other by simply placing the MUMA behind their buttocks
as low as possible. Hold onto the handles either side of the MUMA
while transferring them. By staying close to the person you are able to get
better control while moving them. The patient should be able to take weight
on their legs.
